NICOTAWINES Completes Successful Business Visit to Italy, Strengthening Italian Wine Partnerships

NICOTAWINES is proud to share the outcome of a highly successful business visit to Italy -- a trip that deepened existing partnerships, opened new conversations, and reinforced our commitment to bringing the finest Italian wines to the Nigerian market.

Meeting Our Italian Partners

The visit included meetings with two of our valued Italian partners: Cantina Settecani Castelvetro and Perlino Prosecco. These are producers whose wines have already found enthusiastic audiences in Nigeria, and the opportunity to engage with them directly -- on their home ground, in the region where their wines are grown and crafted -- was both productive and memorable.

There is something irreplaceable about meeting a producer at the source. Every conversation about a wine becomes richer when you can look out at the vineyard it came from. These visits strengthen not just business relationships but the depth of understanding we bring back to Nigeria -- a deeper knowledge of provenance, process, and the people behind every bottle.

Enotourism: A New Language of Discovery

One of the defining themes of this trip was enotourism -- wine tourism as a vehicle for cultural exchange, economic development, and deeper appreciation of Italian viticulture. Back in Lagos, we had the opportunity to highlight the benefits of this journey with top wine vendors and entrepreneurs in Nigeria, sharing what we saw, tasted, and learned.

Italy is increasingly the destination for top quality wines, and with good reason. The country is home to over 2,000 native grape varieties -- more than any other wine-producing nation on earth. That diversity is both a source of fascination and a commercial opportunity that Nigeria's growing wine market is uniquely positioned to explore.

A Partnership with the Consulate General of Italy in Lagos

We are deeply grateful to the Consulate General of Italy in Lagos for their continued commitment to promoting Italian wines in the Nigerian market. Their support -- institutional, diplomatic, and practical -- makes missions like this not only possible but impactful. NICOTAWINES remains a proud partner in that effort, available to make the process of discovering and importing Italian wines easier, more enjoyable, more engaging, and more memorable for anyone who shares our passion for quality.

Neos Air: A New Direct Connection

A special mention goes to Neos Air for launching direct flights from Lagos to Milan. The inaugural flight was an experience in itself -- a tangible symbol of the growing connectivity between Nigeria and Italy, and a development that will make future trade missions, winery visits, and partnerships more accessible for the Nigerian wine community.

Direct routes matter. They reduce friction, reduce cost, and signal to both markets that the relationship between Nigeria and Italy is one worth investing in. We look forward to making good use of this new connection.

Looking Ahead

This visit has set the stage for an even bigger chapter ahead. Stay tuned as we continue to expand our Italian portfolio and build toward our most ambitious international engagement yet.

Stay connected. The dream keeps growing.
